Purported discrepancies in signatures of all of Congress candidate’s proposers, his relatives, his ‘disappearance’ and withdrawal of other candidates lead to disturbing conclusions, though we’ve to wait for clarity. Such a mandate without votes does no credit to Indian democracy.

Calcutta High Court order has failed to address the illegality perpetuated by the West Bengal government in the 2016 teachers’ recruitment scam. Instead, its judgment complicates the matter even more by asking thousands of teachers to return their salaries along with interest. This will not bring closure to the case.
