India and South Africa played the shortest match in Test cricket’s 147-year history, a collapse that’s symbolic of the apathy toward the format. Reason could be poor form, bad pitch, or just fast-disappearing grip of players on Tests. Whichever it is, an autopsy is must to save Tests from dying.

Party’s vote share barely crossed one per cent in last Lok Sabha and assembly elections, it’s virtually non-existent on ground. Legacy politics can’t revive it.
