Govt trade and tariff rules favour industries but hurt farmers. Some parity is needed
Government uses trade and tariff rules in contrary ways for agriculture and industry. Domestic industries benefit from trade restrictions, and consumers uncomplainingly pay more for their products. These same tools, like onion export tariff hikes, punish farmers and protect consumers, primarily vocal urban ones. There needs to be some parity.
