The Prime Minister says that Congress government ran via remote control. Though this is a fact, it is immaterial and irrelevant after the BJP has been in power for the last 9 years. What is material and relevant is how the BJP government has governed. There is no doubt the BJP government has given relief to the remotest village and the person by providing electricity, accessibility, toilets, gas cylinders and opened bank accounts for them so that money could be transferred in their names. It is also true that in providing relief to them, there has been no discrimination based on religion and caste. Despite that the Government is rightly under attack as far as inflation, unemployment and neglect of certain minorities are concerned. The present government cannot ignore these issues by claiming that its predecessor government ran via remote control. The popularity of the Prime Minister holds good as of now, but the performance of the government is under criticism in the surveys done recently and published by the media. The government needs to take stock of its deficiencies to avoid anti-incumbency in 2024.

Let me clarify that I am not against the BJP government. When I was a voter in India, I always voted for the BJP though I spent most of my service period under the Congress governments in Punjab and the Center.
