New Delhi: US and Singapore chaired the second US- Singapore Critical and Emerging Technology (CET) Dialogue in Singapore. Building on the inaugural US-Singapore CET Dialogue held in Washington, D.C. in October 2023, Singapore and the United States reaffirmed their commitment to building trusted, open, accessible, and secure technology ecosystems to promote responsible innovation, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, and a rules-based international order, a White House press release stated.

Both countries have committed to further advancing their cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital economy and data governance, biotechnology, and critical infrastructure and technology supply chains, said a joint statement issued after the event held on 1 August.

The U.S. and Singapore have committed to deepening collaboration in various areas of mutual interest, including quantum information science and technology, biotechnology and biomanufacturing, semiconductors, and critical infrastructure and technology supply chains. The next CET Dialogue in 2025 in the US will focus on advancing cooperation in new technologies to address pressing global challenges.
