KABUL (Reuters) – A car bomb detonated in the northern Afghan province of Badakhshan on Tuesday, causing some deaths, the provincial spokesperson said.

The blast had targeted the provincial governor, the head of the provincial information office, Mahzudeen Ahmadi, said. He did not provide details on whether he had survived.
