New Delhi: Reactions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech Tuesday night were characterised by comments on the content of his speech (note the word atma nirbhar), and the big bang announcement of Rs 20 lakh crore as fiscal stimulus.
The behemoth relief package seemed to have confused Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman too. Who can blame her?
Sorry everybody for the typo: please read as Rs 20 lakh crore. https://t.co/w3x6p59ifl

Shortly after Narendra Modi’s 30-minute long nationwide address, the Prime Minister’s office elaborated on how the Rs 20 lakh crore relief package will help India become ‘atma nirbhar’ (self-reliant).
PM @narendramodi #AatmanirbharBharat— PMO India (@PMOIndia) May 12, 2020
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh criticises PM Modi’s nationwide address in the kind of jargon the Prime Minister would appreciate.
Last night the Prime Minister did what comes to him best.
Maximum Packaging, Minimum Meaning.
It was a case of classic NAMO. No Action Messaging Only

TV actor Nakuul Mehta missed a very important part of the speech. Or did he?
I hate my TV. Missed the part where he spoke about migrant workers.

What does former BJP leader Yashwant Sinha admire about PM Modi? Find out.
People ask me what do you admire in Modi. I admire many things about him but currently, I have great admiration for his designer 'gamchhas' which he has acquired during the lockdown. It shd soon become a fashion trend globally.

Lyricist Javed Akhtar on the silence of the PM about certain people….
The package of 20 lakh crores is definitely a moral boaster for the the nation but in a speech of 33 minutes not even a word about the plight of the millions of migrant workers who need immediate help for their bare survival . Not done .

Congress member Salman Nizami reminds us of what Kashmir has been waiting for since 2014.
Meanhile Kashmir is still waiting for Rs 80,000 crore package announed by PM Modi ji during 2014 floods!

Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal appeals to us to believe in someone… Guess who?
Always have Faith in @narendramodi . He will find way or Make one .

Meanwhile, BJP leaders Amit Malviya and Sambit Patra are still lingering over Congress’ past.
The usual suspects, who earlier wanted a package, are now asking where will the money come from? Offcourse borrowing, printing currency etc are all options on table. Ever heard of investments, which flow in when there is stability and robust policy framework? #AatmanirbharBharat

केवल 20 लाख करोड़!

AAP MLA Raghav Chadha is using his chartered accountancy skills to discover some ‘hidden adjustment’ in the Rs 20 lakh crore figure.
If RBI's liquidity adjustments of March with an impact of 3.75Lac crore and RBI’s comfort to mutual funds in April of 0.50Lac crore are part of the package, then it is already reduced to 15.75Lac crore.
Are there any other hidden adjustments?
What is the Govt’s net cash outflow?

PM Modi’s speech gave Mahindra Group’s Chairman Anand Mahindra a sleepless night.
This was the PM’s Carpe Diem (Seize the Day) speech; an opportunity to change the narrative from ‘Survival’ to ‘Strength.’ We will know tomorrow whether or not this is going to be a transformational moment like 1991. What I also believe is I won’t get much sleep tonight!

Journalist and writer Manu Joseph has a unique proposition. We should ‘listen’ carefully!
I propose we have a national language. We must develop what has the highest potential to be understood by all Indians. I propose Honking.

Does filmmaker Anubhav Sinha’s childhood story about how he used to add up his exam marks have a bearing on the PM’s speech?

Congress’ Sanjay Jha seems rather envious of PM Modi’s well-groomed hair.
At least Modi Ji has a barber visiting him.

Swarajya National President Yogendra Yadav takes a poll to determine what people thought of the prime minister’s speech….
Should the PM have mentioned the plight of migrant workers and expressed sympathy for them in his speech?
प्रधान मंत्री को अपने भाषण में प्रवासी मजदूरों के हाल का जिक्र कर उनके प्रति संवेदना व्यक्त करनी चाहिए थी?

AltNews founder Pratik Sinha believes PM Modi’s lengthy speech (33 minutes) could actually be much shorter. Our millenial social-media savvy generation will agree.
PM's speech can be summarised in a tiktok video.

With inputs from Fiza Jha and Unnati Sharma
Gotta hand it to Yashwant Sinha and Javed Akhtar. They found a good hobby in retirement.
Who types their tweets, their grandchildren?
Modiot. Attack the message, not the messenger.
This article is called TROLLING – not fit for MAD Magazine but “”The Print”” it is ok.
