On Kargil Memorial Day Friday, PM Modi took a trip down the memory lane and shared photographs of his meeting with the soldiers in Kargil during the 1999 conflict with Pakistan.
During the Kargil War in 1999, I had the opportunity to go to Kargil and show solidarity with our brave soldiers.
This was the time when I was working for my Party in J&K as well as Himachal Pradesh.
The visit to Kargil and interactions with soldiers are unforgettable. pic.twitter.com/E5QUgHlTDS

Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, along with several political figures, too paid respect to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Kargil.
#कारगिल युद्ध के योद्धाओं और शहीदों को कृतज्ञ राष्ट्र का कोटि कोटि नमन.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh had a lot to say about the “brazen” manner in which the RTI Amendment Bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha. This is what he had to say.
RTI(Amendment) Bill 2019 that was brazenly passed in Rajya Sabha yesterday, is a pill to kill the RTI.
Sharing my speech where I highlight:
1. What are these amendments?
2. Why the original provision is necessary?
3. Why now?https://t.co/iqDTzeQHnX

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal refused to play the name-change game with the capital city. In response to BJP leader Vijay Goel’s recommendation in the Rajya Sabha to change Delhi’s name to Hastinapur or Indraprastha, he firmly asserted that his government is here to change the lives of the people in Delhi and not the name. Well said, sir.
In translation: We are not here to change Delhi’s name but the lives of the people of Delhi, to improve it. How will there be progress by changing the name of Delhi? People’s lives will be made better when their kids receive quality education, they get the best medical treatment, have good roads, water and electricity.

It’s not everyday that politicians from opposing parties compliment each other. So when they do, it deserves special mention. Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah complimented Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’Brien for breaking a taboo by sharing a personal story. It’s indeed quite brave of you, sir.

US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shouted out something all unpaid interns will definitely appreciate. Find out for yourself.
Today I was asked why we should bother paying interns if they’re “getting experience for their résumé.”
Here’s what we have say about that: https://t.co/vbHoMTLDI3

Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor looks forward to bringing ‘full-service’ flights to his city’s airport, but we wonder what he meant by saying ‘India’s first-ever airport’.
Spoke to the CEO of @airvistara about the golden opportunity awaiting airlines that can offer full-service flights to & from Thiruvananthapuram. He was receptive & has promised to send a team to look at the facilities available at India's first-ever airport!
