New Delhi: After almost 15 hours of counting, the much-anticipated result of the Bihar assembly election was announced in the early hours of Wednesday with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) winning the popular mandate and Nitish Kumar returning as the chief minister.
This comes after most exit polls wrongly predicted a sweep by the Opposition-led Mahagathbandhan.
Here are some of the tweets on the political thriller that Bihar polls proved to be:
First up, Home Minister Amit Shah, who couldn’t campaign in Bihar this time, claimed victory for the BJP in a late night tweet.

Vote counting in Bihar overlapped with last night’s Indian Premier League final and Union Minister Giriraj Singh clearly couldn’t resist a good pun.

Even though RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav didn’t get the birthday gift he had hoped for, his brother Tej Pratap had something to celebrate.

LJP President Chirag Paswan tried to keep spirits up after his party’s poor show.
Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi took a swipe at Paswan and how his party played a spoiler’s role in the Bihar election.
Clearly, Chirag Paswan ji’s LJP has delivered for the BJP by reducing JDU to number 3 position. His ‘dil main hain Modiji’ was not merely a dialogue though there were multiple retakes.

Congress’ star spokesperson Pawan Khera tries manfully to explain why the grand old party lost — but won.
Those saying that the @INCIndia should have contested on lesser number of seats ignore the fact that some of these seats have been traditional bastions of the NDA. Even then, someone had to fight on these seats. https://t.co/MTQMMvw6n0

The party’s national coordinator Geeta Sethi gave him valiant support…
All 70 seats given to @INCIndia were hardcore Sanghi seats. INC led by @RahulGandhi was brave enough to contest and have won 20 of them as of now.

In a three-part thread, BJP MP Jyotiraditya Scindia couldn’t barely control his excitement over the Madhya Pradesh bypoll results.

There was some heartburn in the RJD and Congress camp regarding the EVMs but Congress MP Karti P Chidambaram wasn’t having any of it.
Whatever be the outcome of any election, it's time to stop blaming the EVM. In my experience, the EVM system is robust, accurate and dependable. @ECISVEEP

Comedian Kunal Kamra had an entirely different take on the meaning of EVM — read on.

Former Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha has some harsh news for his party…but are they ready to hear it?
The Congress should stop criticising Mr Owaisi; it is a bizarre argument. His AIMIM has won 5 seats in Bihar. It is filling a vacant space. Please respect people’s verdict. Now even the Muslims are rejecting the Congress. They don’t trust it anymore.
Smell the coffee!

Congress’ national spokesperson Ragini Nayak composed a short poem the morning after the counting day.
