Yogi Adityanath, born in 1972 as Ajay Mohan Singh Bisht, is a monk-turned-politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party or the BJP. He has been the longest-serving Chief Minister of the state of Uttar Pradesh, having been in office for over nearly seven years — since March 2017.
Head priest at the Gorakhnath temple, he first joined politics when he was named in charge of managing the election campaign for former MP Mahant Avaidyanath.
Yogi Adityanath represents the Gorakhpur urban constituency in the state legislative assembly. First elected to the Lok Sabha in 1998, he has served as the MP for Gorakhpur in the parliament. He was a member of the Legislative Council of the state between 2017 and 2022.
It is a good thing that these expressways are being built. Someone has pointed out that railways would be better suited as it is cheaper. Though it is correct that railways are cheaper, now, our automobile sector should scale up and start building public commercial vehicles that are suitable for transporting larger number of people. For example, since the expressways are usually straight and wide, they can design buses that have bodies like the old vestibule buses of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation which are twice the size of the normal buses. They can have designated stops for these buses only at certain points along the expressway. From there, the people should get down and board local transport facilities. In this way, the expressways can be used to provide cheaper transport facilities.

Article says “UP would have a total network of 1,788 km of expressways…Currently, the total expressway network in India is around 1,822 km”. So, according to the article, there are only 34 km of expressway outside of UP in the entire country? Maybe employing a fact checker would have been money well spent?
Maybe you should invest some time and energy in re-enrolling in middle school which you dropped out of. It’s written once all the projects will be over “UP would have a total network of 1,788 km of expressways”.
Please read the article once again to understand
it just means that when currently india (including up expressways) has only 1822 km of expressways
and once all these expressways are completed them up alone will have 1788 kms of expressways , note once these are completed india’s total will also increase by around 1000+ kms , then it would be around 2800-3000 km for india and 1788 for up.
In these infrastructure projects where is the concept of ” profit ” being brought in? It is at best a reduction in the project cost and would qualify to be a saving of the capital expenditure….but by no means can they be termed savings!!

No I’ll not believe this, I’ll keep my eyes, ears and brain closed and follow samajwad. Where are the good old days of UP when people used to sit outside of their homes because there was no electricity and therefore used to talk to neighbors. BJP has forced people to their homes by providing continuous electricity and internet.
We used to have similar high speed development when BJP was in power. Now – only the Maha Vasooli Aghadi collecting Rs 100 crore every month – only from Mumbai. They want to milk the state to its bone because they know that they will never ever come to power again.
Anyone knows what happened with the Nagpur – Mumbai expressway which was going strong in the Fadnavis government?
The bullet train project has also been halted by the Maha Vasooli Aghadi as is the metro shed which is going to cost more for no particular benefit.
Good thing that infra projects is happening in those region…some geographical advantage also benefited these pace as the terrain over there might be more kind of plain…also they should have plan the massive rail network along in these states…coz it will reduce the cost of transportation…road projects are not going to help daily commute….also you can find out who owned the land nearby….as it did happened in maharashtra…
Great work by the government of the day. Have heard a lot, from a bureaucrat friends from UP, about the focus and good work being done by them on a number of hitherto neglected areas…
It is not development of infrastructure rather it is mega sale of public property. Only rich can pay the toll .
Dynamism of Yogi Adityanath’s leadership will have to be admired. His commitment and hard work will win him a second term.

Good article but one data is wrong here. The unemployment rate in UP, as of March 2021, is 4.1% only. But the article says 6.2%
Please update the data accordingly
If you go for real unemployment rate. You might it more than 20-30%.
