While releasing 'India Employment Report 2024', V Anantha Nageswaran said govt can't solve 'all social, economic challenges'. Congress leader Kharge says CEA protecting 'dear leader'.
In an interview with Gulistan News this week, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the government would leave law and order to J&K Police and slowly withdraw troops.
The ‘idea’ Kejriwal's politics grew around was a no-holds-barred fight against corruption. That is the reason Modi govt has now tarred him and his entire party with the same paint.
Many thanks for sharing such a meaningful and insightful writeup. Today the higher education system in India is in dire need to see the long hand of a contributory, constructive visionary like you, which University of Delhi had witnessed in the recent past. But the strict formalisation and structures of educational system has snatched away the basic substance of it- autonomy- and this creativity. An apt writeup at right moment and we all must realise it, before it’s too late.
Excellent piece of insight from an innovative stalwart who had almost changed the face of rotten higher education in India but for political interference. Until we will allow political pigmies to decide the fate of our education, we will certainly not be able to produce academic intellectuals. Thank you so much.
Very Insightful writing from an academician who innovated to change the face of higher education in India but for political interference. Until political pigmies keeps on having an upper hand, we will not be able to have academic stalwarts
Sir, I have no idea about how to best pick a VC. But I do know that you can’t have crazy people in VC posts.
Andhra University’s VC Nageswara Rao said Ravana had airports and Kauravas had stem cell technology.
Manipal University’s former VC Belle Monappa Hegde constantly gives pseudoscience speeches on Youtube and confuses common man. For example, he thinks you can make wife happy by sending happy thoughts to water that she drinks. He has medical degree but talks like he has a very confused understanding of biology. He thinks you don’t need food to live, just sunshine.
How do we avoid making people like these VCs? I think we are going to make more sub-standard people like these VCs in the coming years.

If a micky mouse like Faizan Mustafa is the VC of NALSAR, something stinks with the appointment of VCs alright.
I wish vice chancellors were that understanding
