There is no shame in taking the help extended to us by friends.
Earlier this week, on 20-21 August, I travelled to Geneva, Switzerland, where I held a series...
We have failed terribly at two important things. One, we are reacting to this issue only emotionally, not logically. And two, we are not asking the right questions.
WhatsApp privacy policy case is among a string of matters involving practices like restrictive platform rules, pricing & billing policies, reflecting India’s tight scrutiny of market dominance.
Bihar is blessed with a land more fertile for revolutions than any in India. Why has it fallen so far behind then? Constant obsession with politics is at the root of its destruction.
Lord Ram was surely born in the town of Ayodhya, which was his kingdom, but to say that he was born in THIS SPECIFIC HALF AN ACRE OF LAND obviously displays the self-righteousness and arrogance of the BJP and its affiliates.
Consider this: if I suddenly decide to go to my ancestral village which I haven’t visited all my life, and out of curiosity want to know EXACTLY IN WHICH HOUSE my great grandfather was born, then I will surely be disappointed. The village would have changed immensely over the years; my great grandfather was born nearly 150 years ago, so no one from that time would be alive to tell me exactly where that family lived.
The point is, it is 100% true that lord Ram was born “somewhere” in Ayodhya. So why make such a great fuss about one SMALL PIECE OF LAND and insist that He was BORN RIGHT HERE and the temple must be built RIGHT HERE? (I am of course talking about the Babri Mosque site.) Especially when that piece of land has a history of acts of offending a large section of our fellow countrymen? Was that the way the members of the majority community, especially believers of AHIMSA, should have “proactively” trampled over the feelings of a minority people?
I am also a member of the majority community, but if they want me to “endorse” that act of theirs, I would PLAINLY REFUSE. (There must me millions and millions of Hindus like me, that’s why Kalyan Singh government LOST THE ELECTIONS that were held soon after the Babri mosque demolition.)
(Please, I want to make this very clear: I do not belong to ANY political party, NOR DO I INTEND to belong to any political party.)
Ram temple MUST BE BUILT IN AYODHYA, but NOT at the controversial site. A MOSQUE TOO SHOULD BE BUILT IN AYODHYA, but NOT at the controversial site.
At that controversial site AN ALTOGETHER NEW INSTITUTION should be built by the courageous act of a prime minister who can take bold decisions and who will be remembered by posterity for it, because it will benefit all the poor people of our country for all times to come. One suggestion for such an institution can be:
RAM–MUHAMMAD NATIONAL HOSPITAL FOR THE POOR.
