Launching Versus – ThePrint’s video series that will dissect the most contentious issues in the run-up to 2019.
Episode one is the first in a week-long series on Hindutva vs Hinduism. We begin with Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who says that while Hinduism is about tolerance and acceptance, Hindutva is about exclusion.
Coming up in the Hindutva vs Hinduism debate: Ram Madhav, Pawan Varma, Rakesh Sinha and Walter Andersen.
Hindutva is a social political movement which has come about in Hindu society to protect Hindu society from attacks by missionaries jihadist and now secularist who want to define Hinduism in caste term a colonial plot. Why there is no aknowledgement that this nation owes its identity to Hinduism. Till the opportunists like Tharoor and liberals don’t acknowledge the primacy of Hinduism Hindutva will be relevant.
The other side is far more generously endowed, could equip an entire division, but the Congress has a few loose cannon as well. This is high noon for the elections, when words will be plucked out of context, invested with meaning and malignancy that was never intended. Great wisdom in keeping the message simple, tightly wound.
