A victory for Delhi's elected government: The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that the lieutenant governor can’t obstruct the functioning of the Delhi government, and...
Fixing MSP only on the basis of cost of production, without any reference to demand, global market etc. can cause distortions that may take years to correct.
Renowned agricultural economist Sardara Singh Johl takes on the father of Green Revolution, M. S. Swaminthan's idea of raising MSP 1.5 times the production costs.
The FM knew that the media would not spend that much of time and attention on farmers. He knew that on farmers, you need not put your money where your mouth is.
The idea of giving 1.5 times the cost of the produce is good, but with challenges in implementation, achieving effectiveness will require innovative approach.
TMC should worry about minority voters and how they view her ‘outside support’. Minorities are with the TMC but they have also watched Rahul Gandhi march across the country.
Latest report by UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs says global growth to be faster than estimated earlier & India’s 'robust performance' to boost South Asia’s growth.
The Spanish foreign minister says 'the Middle East does not need more weapons, it needs more peace'. Spain has been very critical of Israel’s offensive in Gaza.
Even in the weeks leading up to Chamkila’s assassination there were massacres every other day. To airbrush all of this is sheer intellectual cowardice if not a crime.
I feel, Mr. Arun Jaitley would have spent his hospitalisation and subsequent recuperation period with great deal of difficulty,
unease and restlessness not because of the ordeals of treatment and healing touch processes but on account of being alienated
from the ” glamour and glitter of power politics ” ! His unavoidable indisposition certainly made him feel as a fish feels out of
water and sea !
Anyhow, he is again back on to the front though in his leave -gap period, BJP had to pass through the severe ordeal of many
traumatic phases – losing power in Karnataka after coming too near to it. The BJP suffering debacle in by polls in Lok Sabha
and Assemblies tug of war !
In wake of above-mentioned developments, desperate and jolted the BJP leadership is grappling to retrieve the lost ground by
exploring and concocting issues to score brownie points eyeing the Marathon-2019 Lok Sabha Polls.
Following his recuperation spell, Jaitley is there on the scene with recharged vigour to make his existence and contribution felt !
Just to infuse blood in to the sulking and sagging morale of BJP he has new gimmick and ploy of World Bank Report up his sleeve
now claiming that India is the sixth largest growing economy of the world relegating France to the seventh spot. What does it imply
so far as plight of Indian economy or fortune of the masses is concerned ? On paper World Bank report sounds very sweet to the
ears of Jaitley but realities on ground portray a dismal picture ! It can be deemed a bright spot for selling it in the poll campaign
exercise !
He asserts that PM Modi has ensured that the rural India and the less privileged get the first right of resources ! His assertion
is paradoxical ! Had it been true then NaMo might not had to eat a humble pie in rural Gujarat- his home state in the Gujarat
assembly polls discarding him and BJP altogether !
In the light of the World Bank Report, Jaitley has tried his level best to draw a very very rosy picture of various walks of life in
India as if all was very well ! However, this picture is far far away from reality !
Should be nothing amazing! Now in the run up to the Marathon-2019 Lok Sabha Polls we shall be in for many BJP utopian acts
and theatrics only to enchant and amuse the masses !
