Despite announcements almost every month, not one big project has taken off. With just about a year left, Modi govt unlikely to have much to showcase in 2019.
Govt release credits minister Sitharaman for promoting Make in India in defence sector; ministry sources say this could be because ‘final version’ has now been approved.

Before following global norms of spending 2.0 to 2.5% on GDP, we should also consider our HDI scores, with the largest number of stunted children in the world. Indian diplomacy should be working on a more harmonious neighbourhood policy. We should certainly not get carried away by terms like net security provider and Indo – Pacific.
