This is the latest move by US in efforts to bar Huawei’s technology on the grounds that the Chinese technology company could be used as a back door for spying on Americans.

The ban will cost UK operators around 2 billion pounds to implement, and will delay the roll out of 5G networks by between two and three years, the government said.
