Transgendered people have a totally different set of struggles than LG people and Bi’s have a totally different struggle than LGs.
People in 1947 never thought a woman would be India’s PM one day or a woman would be the President or serve on the SC. People never believed that anybody not named Gandhi could ever lead India – yet all these things have happened.
Do not under-estimate Indians. The most dangerous thing the LGBTQ community would do is emulate the Western confrontational model of civic rights and emulate those foreign sensibilities of lewd gay pride parades and aggressive “gay-mafia” clannish behavior. Integration and moderation is the key – preferably by being politically neutral.
The same people who advocate loudly for the repeal of section 377 never did much when they had the reins for decades. Let not the LGBT community be seduced by false sympathizers and burn bridges- because human rights is not a “left-vs-right” issue – it is a human issue and it affects ALL people.
