This is exactly what the students are saying who have genuinely prepared for it…Even me… Postponement is an escape, not a solution…If Corona stays with us for 1 year, they will try to make govt postpone it for 1 year…then next year, double the number of candidates for the same number of seats, then they will scream why didn’t they take the xam in the last year, now we have to suffer ! It has been politicised to a very high level… because all such parties are now thinking themselves as a Messiah for the students…coz 20 lakhs students mean 40 lakhs parents, maybe this will be in crores, so hoping that number of votes in future, they have run their dirty agenda like this ! I am very happy with the thoughts put out forward and I too also wanted to put the same things. The truth has been put forward by him whether you think bikau or whatever. Rightly said a serious candidate will find his way of transportation and other difficulties without complaining and who wanted to postpone ask yourself how did your last two years went and what was your jee mains percentile in January if jee aspirant think wisely you will realize that you were only those who either filled form for timepass or because of your “pita ji”. The government could have easily conducted NEET and JEE when cases in India were at its minimum. Every kid wants to excel in these examinations moreover no kid is fully sure for hus/her selection. If given an opportunity even the smartest one would like more time even if it takes a lot more efforts.. The one attempt at producing a fact is also botched up – a maximum of 120 km travel to an exam center. The fact is, that a student in a remote corner of Arnuachal Pradesh will have to travel 500+ km to the one center in the state – Itanagar. Worse, the author assumes that IIT aspirants come only from cities and towns – how elitist is that?!

I am not sure about situation today but when I appeared for JEE, my center was Bhopal and I used to live in Chhtarpur. Distance between them is 300 KM. Without bus and trains I dont think there was any other way to travel. Also, you would have to go atleast a day early for exam. Without safe hotel accomodation it was not possible for me to attend. I am sure 95 percent of people will find a way out, leaving 5 percent without fair chance. All that gives credibility to IIT and AIIMs is that they are fair and provide equal chance to all.

As a student from a coaching institute with 10000 students I can confirm this is true. We have been preparing for a year. Majority of us started preparation from 11th grade and many even as early as 6th grade. All our sacrifices and decisions have led up to this moment. I recently conducted a poll on our telegram channel of which these 10000 student are participants. A whopping 96% students didn’t want the exams to be postponed. And the rest cited reason of uneasinness when thinking about writing exams wearing masks and gloves . Of any student has a difficulty in writing the exam they need to reach out to NTA directly and NTA needs to verify the claim via a district administrative personnel and get the correct percentage of students who actually have difficulty on reaching centres on time. Otherwise the real voices of the students get hidden in the fog of twitter activism where my neighbour’s 10 year old and random 23 year olds is tweeting postpone jee and neet

The fact that the country is going through a pandemic of unprecedented scale (& suffering badly through it), the fact that a vast majority of students have been deprived of means of public transport like the Railways (which usually allow students belonging from families of low annual income to travel), the fact parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Assam are drowned in thick layer of water with no signs of help, the fact that the government wants to absolve itself from any potential transmission of the virus to the candidate by means of carelessness of those who are conducting the exam, the fact that a state like Bihar has only *2* examination centres are all points of concern which you’ve conveniently skipped form getting into.
No Achyut, merely knowing the underprivileged isn’t going to do the job. You have to factor them into your analysis which you didn’t. I don’t find you sharing a remedy for thousands of those students – if not lakhs whose houses have been drowned due to floods or those who have grave logistical issues. Do they not deserve a fair and equal shot at this exam , too?

All the exams that could be postponed have been postponed, including final year examinations. Even JEE and NEET were postponed from the original dates. If no exam is done now, it will not only be loss of one edycational year but permanent loss of 77000 doctors to the country. The country is already having lowest number of doctors per million people. Yes Govt has to provide transport facilities and many states are already doing it. We have opened everything including metro, but cant open exam centres for few years.

:-)A day before the NEET exam India broke the record of highest 24 hr cases (78/79000) .Work that can be done without risking mass spread like recruiting those who have already passed all tests for SSC CGL RAILWAYS etc is neither being done nor being commented on by either our beloved PM or the ruling party leaders. Any question raised is either an opposition stunt or anti-national. Future of students is there argument when they can’t even absorb the already existing qualified candidates whose present has become a stagnant hell. Rightly said a serious candidate will find his way of transportation and other difficulties without complaining and who wanted to postpone ask yourself how did your last two years went and what was your jee mains percentile in January if jee aspirant think wisely you will realize that you were only those who either filled form for timepass or because of your “pita ji”. The students who have problem is of great concern but the students who don’t have any problem but they still want it to be postponed is of much greater concern for the future of the country.
The government could have easily conducted NEET and JEE when cases in India were at its minimum. Now they want to conduct the examinations when Covid cases are at its peak, and amidst the floods in several states. That’s Indian government logic. They enforced a full lockdown when cases in India were at its minimum, and they started unlocking when the number of cases started to increase. Shame on the Indian government!

Before circulating the fake news, look at the facts.
Why do the countries at least which arent even in the top ten in corona cases arent opening the schools or conducting their exams?
Is it because those students didnt prepare for the exams or is it because their government gives more importance to safety?

If given an opportunity even the smartest one would like more time even if it takes a lot more efforts.. First of all, the headline is misleading.. when it says ex-Kota student, one expects that the author has recently been in Kota, and so knows the pulse of the students. Instead, the author turns out to be one of those fuddy-duddies who claims that he was once young and so is qualified to know what the young want right now!!
Second, there’s a lot of conjecture, name-calling, boasting, beating about the bush and a whole lot more whataboutery. The one thing that needed to be there, but is not, is facts! The one attempt at producing a fact is also botched up – a maximum of 120 km travel to an exam center. The fact is, that a student in a remote corner of Arnuachal Pradesh will have to travel 500+ km to the one center in the state – Itanagar. Worse, the author assumes that IIT aspirants come only from cities and towns – how elitist is that?!
The only aspect the article really sheds light on, is why the author is now a ‘former’ journalist!!

JEE and NEET are as important to the nation as the holy Ganga water is important in the house of a pious Hindu and zamzam to a Muslim. A year without these exams would create excessive completion the next year thereby preventing the deserving future doctors and engineers to serve the nation, also not to forget all the seats of this year ranging in lakh would go unfilled. Speaking about the flood situation , lakhs and lakhs of students giving exam from big cities would be deprived of their dreams just for the sake of a few stuck in flood waters. Only the non serious student who thought the exams will be cancelled this year and couldn’t complete his syllabus on time would give such a fool’s logic of the fear of Pandemic while himself going for a leisure stroll every evening. I am not sure about situation today but when I appeared for JEE, my center was Bhopal and I used to live in Chhtarpur. Distance between them is 300 KM. Without bus and trains I dont think there was any other way to travel. Also, you would have to go atleast a day early for exam. Without safe hotel accomodation it was not possible for me to attend. I am sure 95 percent of people will find a way out, leaving 5 percent without fair chance. All that gives credibility to IIT and AIIMs is that they are fair and provide equal chance to all.

Having hailed from rural background and parent of a son who is appearing for the NEET, my blood boils when people arguing for deferment without knowing the pain of a zero year. As a student from a coaching institute with 10000 students I can confirm this is true. We have been preparing for a year. Majority of us started preparation from 11th grade and many even as early as 6th grade. All our sacrifices and decisions have led up to this moment. I recently conducted a poll on our telegram channel of which these 10000 student are participants. A whopping 96% students didn’t want the exams to be postponed. And the rest cited reason of uneasinness when thinking about writing exams wearing masks and gloves . Of any student has a difficulty in writing the exam they need to reach out to NTA directly and NTA needs to verify the claim via a district administrative personnel and get the correct percentage of students who actually have difficulty on reaching centres on time. Otherwise the real voices of the students get hidden in the fog of twitter activism where my neighbour’s 10 year old and random 23 year olds is tweeting postpone jee and neet

The fact that the country is going through a pandemic of unprecedented scale (& suffering badly through it), the fact that a vast majority of students have been deprived of means of public transport like the Railways (which usually allow students belonging from families of low annual income to travel), the fact parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Assam are drowned in thick layer of water with no signs of help, the fact that the government wants to absolve itself from any potential transmission of the virus to the candidate by means of carelessness of those who are conducting the exam, the fact that a state like Bihar has only *2* examination centres are all points of concern which you’ve conveniently skipped form getting into.
No Achyut, merely knowing the underprivileged isn’t going to do the job. You have to factor them into your analysis which you didn’t. I don’t find you sharing a remedy for thousands of those students – if not lakhs whose houses have been drowned due to floods or those who have grave logistical issues. Do they not deserve a fair and equal shot at this exam , too?
Also an exam candidate is an exam candidate. His/her fate is decided by his attempt and not by us. Stop making the division of “serious” and “non-serious” student division by self unless you’ve evidence to prove it. Everyone is an equal candidate, has equal chance to write the exam – irrespective of their background and irrespective of their performances in Coaching “Factories”.

All the exams that could be postponed have been postponed, including final year examinations. Even JEE and NEET were postponed from the original dates. If no exam is done now, it will not only be loss of one edycational year but permanent loss of 77000 doctors to the country. The country is already having lowest number of doctors per million people. Yes Govt has to provide transport facilities and many states are already doing it. We have opened everything including metro, but cant open exam centres for few years.

:-)A day before the NEET exam India broke the record of highest 24 hr cases (78/79000) .Work that can be done without risking mass spread like recruiting those who have already passed all tests for SSC CGL RAILWAYS etc is neither being done nor being commented on by either our beloved PM or the ruling party leaders. Any question raised is either an opposition stunt or anti-national. Future of students is there argument when they can’t even absorb the already existing qualified candidates whose present has become a stagnant hell. My advice is stop taking what you think is “NEWS” from whatsapp or news channels at face value and open your beautiful eyes.
