Donald Trump is an American businessman and politician associated with the Republican Party. He served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021. His tenure as president was known for his war of words with North Korea, a trade war with China, and his claims to build a wall to stop immigration from the south.
He is the first president to be impeached twice and one of the very few to not get an immediate second term in office. Trump started his career by joining the family business and rose to be a real estate tycoon. He then went on to host reality TV before joining politics in 2016. While he faces numerous felony counts and civil and criminal cases in US courts, the most infamous is his alleged role in the 6 January 2021 storming of Capitol Hill by his supporters, as the US Congress began the electoral vote count to confirm Joe Biden as the next President.
