NGOs in India claiming sudden increase in use of other modes for complaining about abuses is not sustainable – their communication skills (in writing) suddenly gone up? It’s very natural that our NGOs don’t want any decline in the numbers they pretend to serve…..after all they throw up huge numbers to seek funds to run their show!
I agree with your contention that there could be many NGOs exaggerating numbers for their funding interests. In this article, the journalist specifically mentions a few organisations of repute – Jagori, Shakti Shalini and AKS Foundation. Do you have any specific reason to suspect their statements and data? Or is it your speculation that these organisations must also be unethical?
Let me tell you it’s both ways. But from men towards women is definitely more be sure of financial dependency.
