The prime minister, chief minister and district magistrate are the three engines of India’s governance, but their handling of the coronavirus pandemic is going awry.
Consensus and consultation are not two traits displayed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But the marathon Covid video conferences are changing that image.
In their 5th video conference with PM Modi, many state CMs differed with the Centre on an exit strategy, and batted for a two-week extension of the lockdown.
What should worry the BJP high command is the failure of the NDA chief ministers to rise to the occasion and become Modi’s ambassadors who could deliver in times of crises.
Having won accolades for the bold decision to impose nationwide lockdown, Modi knows that both extension and easing of it will now bring diminishing political returns.
After a long time, the focus of Indian TV news isn’t Delhi Durbar, but virologists, healthcare workers and chief ministers of states from Bengal to Kerala.
The chief justices-chief ministers’ conference is a rare forum where the executive and judiciary come together to talk about issues that matter to both.
SEBI probe concluded that purported loans and fund transfers were paid back in full and did not amount to deceptive market practices or unreported related party transactions.
The 2018 contract with Russia for 5 S-400 systems had a follow-on clause for 5 more. S-400 was described as a 'game-changer' for shooting down 5 Pakistan fighter jets during Op Sindoor.
What Munir has achieved with Trump is a return to normal, ironing out the post-Abbottabad crease. The White House picture gives us insight into how Pakistan survives, occasionally thrives and thinks.

Perhaps Shivam is right, perhaps he is wrong – only time will tell. Today’s winners may become losers tomorrow when economic troubles begin to really hurt. That is the nature of how powers are won and lost. What is clear is that PM Modi seems to have bungled both the lockdown and the international ramifications of “blame China.” In the process the economy is in deep coma with no signs of waking up. Additional costs of waging war isn’t going to help. Modi seems to have realised this and hence wants states to bear the responsibility (and blame). It seems to me that he and his supporters want him to continue being PM only to bear a single responsibility – stop Rahul Gandhi (from being PM). Whole of India seems to be paying a very high price for that. It may be cheaper to try out an alternative than continuing to pay such a high price.
Do you guys even do basic editorializing/spell/fact checking. KCR is K. ChandraShekar Rao, then what the Hell is “K.C.R. Rao” is it K.ChandraShekar Rao Rao. nobody has ever called him KCR Rao, maybe even KC Rao makes sense.
It not a big deal but get that right or do not write these articles commenting on other peoples job performance when you cannot even do basic things right!
Vij has caught a virus worse than covid ,it is ‘anti’ virus. The symptoms of this very virulent disease is whatever the situation the sufferer must be the BJP.
Its a good report, Malus are intelligent and wise as compared to the Brits, when comes to voting. They will support Pinarayi Vijayan for having a clean record on governance and for making some positive steps in moving the state towards manufacturing and commerce.Since there is a big exodus of NRI’s giving opportunity for self employment would be key and a good governance is a big confidence.
Mr. Adarsh are you from Kerala. If yes, i am shocked to see your comment and you dont know the reality. If no, you are pardoned, because the print and visual media is not reflecting the truth. The fact is kerala CM is not clean at all. Scams are going on even during the corona period, despite the fact that government dont have enough funds to pay even the salary of state government employees. and please dont use words like “manufacturing”, “commerce” etc. we forgot those words long long back. There is nothing in Kerala for educated people and thats why people like me are out of kerala. And finally self employment, yes, many Gulf returned people tried to tried to get self employed with whatever little they have earned from gulf. But the same Pinarayi’s party men harassed them to such an extend that at least two of them committed suicide. dont believe me until you read those stories yourself.
Shivam’s colours are now out in the open. He is a diehard communist, not a liberal as he wants others to believe. You can look at his fawning praise of the communist Pinarayi Vijayan. FYI, he was once the editor of HuffPost India, which is again a communist paper.
I hope you are a journalist not any party spokeperson .If you are journalist it is good to read before publishing.

No mention of BSY of Karnataka? Arguably India’s best managed state during the Covid-19 crisis. But this is a Shivam Vij article, can’t expect a fair opinion.
Wow. I have never come across such a biased and cynical article . I ponder if it’s out of depression. Also if such is the way of thinking, may I suggest to visit the ground and find the reality?

Discussion on chief ministers in covid handling and you don’t mention BS Yediyurappa just shows that this article is trash.

A foolish assessment made by a person with weak reading comprehension.

Another great example of great leadership is Assam.
You are inhaling some really potent stuff if you thought the national lockdown would have stopped the spread.
