Yogi Adityanath, born in 1972 as Ajay Mohan Singh Bisht, is a monk-turned-politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party or the BJP. He has been the longest-serving Chief Minister of the state of Uttar Pradesh, having been in office for over nearly seven years — since March 2017.
Head priest at the Gorakhnath temple, he first joined politics when he was named in charge of managing the election campaign for former MP Mahant Avaidyanath.
Yogi Adityanath represents the Gorakhpur urban constituency in the state legislative assembly. First elected to the Lok Sabha in 1998, he has served as the MP for Gorakhpur in the parliament. He was a member of the Legislative Council of the state between 2017 and 2022.
Such a cheap article. Why dont you leave journalism and join Prashant Kishor instead? What a junk piece is this.
Nonsense.
Damn never seen analyst so desparate to dislodge someone by using caste equations.
It’s quiet clear that journalists from proselytizers community would like nothing more than to see a divided HINDU community. Who other than samaj virodhi party with support from ultra religious fanatics to achieve such an agenda. These journalist will NEVER discuss reducing population through tough measures as they have been brainwashed by religious fundamentalist .
is writer a sp spokesperson?
Funny how librandus are so desperate for downfall of Yogi and Modi. This writer so conveniently forgets that Vikas Dubey’s wife fought elections on SP party ticket. Aam public is happy with ‘thok do neeti’ of Yogi as for first time in decades they are getting reprieve from gansters. Akhilesh Yadav’s SP itself is completely a jamaat of gangsters and criminals which should never come to power anywhere in the world. They all belong to jails or bullets!
Don’t decrease standards of Print by writing this type of chai shop faltu opinion.
Muslims are desperate to dislodge BJP by hook or crook, the best way is , to divide Hindus on caste bases and bargain Muslim vote Bank and skim the system, going on from 70 years in India
The author is desperately hoping for a Samajwadi revival so that her ilk can regain lost glory.
Let her dream on.
Hmm…Maybe perhaps….But unlikely.
1. Anti-Modi space has shrunk considerably in N India. (including UP) It cannot accommodate Mayawati, Congress and SP. If Akhilesh comes to some understanding with the Congress then maybe yes, but again 2017 assembly election results weren’t too encouraging on that front. It can happen if – there is sabotage of Yogi govt due to BJP infighting plus economic distress plus smart tactics.
2. BJP supporters – online and media houses haven’t paid as much attention to Akhilesh as they have to RG and PGV. It is highly doubtful whether the SP skeletons can bear tumbling out of the closet if CBI/NIA is sent looking for them. Akhilesh may perhaps be also forced to follow the Mayawati route come 2022.
Blah, blah and more blah. Theprint needs better informed writers.
If only the writers were as eloquent and intelligent as the commenters…
And then Shekhar Gupta wants readers to ‘help’ “The Print’s” journalism by contributing. For his sake, I’d do it anytime but the kind of articles he chooses in the name of ‘the other viewpoint’ leaves me amazed. Writers like the one who authored this article and a few others write blatantly one-sided pieces.
