The 2020–2021 farmer protests, which were sparked by the controversial farm laws that were later repealed, drew significant public attention, with criticism directed at the use of force and the management of the situation. Similarly, the government’s response to the 2019 Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests raised concerns over its handling of dissent, particularly the use of force. The BJP’s management of the COVID-19 pandemic also attracted criticism, especially regarding the lack of transparency around the death toll, shortages of medical resources like oxygen cylinders, and inadequate preparedness during the second wave.
Additionally, the ongoing inter-tribe conflict in Manipur, which erupted in 2023, has faced criticism for the government’s perceived failure to take adequate action, with accusations of poor crisis management and insufficient intervention in addressing the escalating violence.

Adityanath is only INDIRECTLY harming the common man — through bad or zero governance, because he is all the time busy giving speeches in other states. He is DIRECTLY harming the BJP by revealing to the whole world how regressive BJP’s thinking is.
Demonetization DIRECTLY harmed the common man by snatching away the piece of food from his and his family’s hand. That was on the micro level. On macro level, demonetization harmed the entire economy by harming businesses across the board. Even big businesses were harmed because their supplies came from small businesses which were directly hurt. The outputs of all businesses suffered because “demand” in general suffered due to disruption in the purchasing method of the society.
Mr Modi has been tom tomming that demonetization has brought cash to the banks, and cash owners have been forced to file IT returns. A recent TV report showed that government has a backlog of more than one lakh crores to pay back the IT REFUNDS which people have filed for! Now, does it mean that the additional IT returns that were filed have mostly asked for refunds, or government is short of funds because of GST misadventure? Or perhaps both?
So, Adityanath and DeMo both were blunders, each bigger than the other!
