Statutory basis for pecuniary jurisdiction is Section 6 of Civil Procedure Code (CPC). Delhi HC has begun consultations on increasing pecuniary jurisdiction of district courts.
Delhi Police has sent letters to all 12 district courts in Delhi, seeking permission to let formal police witnesses depose virtually, from police stations.
The move was triggered by a PIL over acute space shortage, with Chief Justice-headed division bench ordering that no relocation can take place unless general body reaches a consensus.
To curb touts & imposters, bar bodies have barred non-lawyers from donning courtroom attire. But some advocates argue this action lacks legal backing and risks being invalidated.
Resolution states that to preserve decorum, only enrolled advocates & bona fide law interns shall be allowed professional dress code in court premises. Violators face Rs 5,000 fine.
It's been signed by Gujarat HC Advocates’ Association, Kerala HC Advocates’ Association, Awadh Bar Association Lucknow, Advocates' Assn Bengaluru, Allahabad HC Bar association etc.
The bar association has also questioned the procedure to appoint Supreme Court and high court judges, calling it non-transparent, and called for a review of the collegium system.
Under the 2025 Bill, boycotts & abstentions that affect court work will be penalised. It also allows Centre, among other things, to appoint 3 members to Bar Council of India.
Contrary to naysayers, the RSS practices what it preaches. It is closer to the Gandhian teaching of improving the individual morally and spiritually to change the external environment.

With all due respect to the new CJI, I know him for repressing freedom of speech. For people who are not aware just look at the comments the new CJI has made in the past. I don’t think he will change his view of thinking but hopefully he proves me wrong
