Peter Manuel's ‘Cassette Culture’ showed the booming Bhakti music during the '80s and '90s when Anoop Jalota, Gulshan Kumar achieved success by singing the sanitised Bhajans.
Economists say there are weaknesses in India’s GDP data. But statisticians claim the accusations are based on flawed understanding, saying while GDP has problems, the economists are looking in the wrong places.
Once a DGP / Commissioner retires from service, they seem to know everything that is rotting in the police machinery of India. However, as long as they are in service, they are just happy to toe the line of their political masters.
Mr. Neeraj Kumar, please tell me, how many subordinate officers have you reprimanded or sanctioned once an accused is acquitted in 100’s of cases that come up in Delhi’s courts everyday? If the subordinate officers have no fear of repercussions for failed / shoddy / corrupt investigations, then why would they do any investigation fairly?
And isn’t Delhi police one of the most feared Government institution by most commoners in Delhi? I know very well that you know that every thana in Delhi gets its set hafta on a monthly basis. How many cases have you registered against your officers?
We have to accept that our entire police force is grossly incompetent and corrupt to the core. Its so sad to see all and sundry seeking to transfer cases to the CBI in the hope of a fair investigation when all those officers have come from the termite eaten woodwork of the law enforcement biradari. When you meet them one to one, they’ll impress you with their suave style and well mannered air. Kitna accha officer hai you’ll feel. But rotten to the core. The nexus between the police and politicians is too deep to root out. And they’ll give you a thousand plausible excuses why the system is so corrupt.
I dread the day I may be ensnared unwittingly into the arms of such cops. It something one does not wish on even one’s foe.
Can the system be fixed to ensure fair investigation? Not in my lifetime I’m sure.
Shouldn’t cops be looking for real killers again? Instead of conducting postmortems of the last 9 years and lamenting? Or is there noone in detection in this country who can solve crimes and punish murderers of a girl killed in her own house?
