The petition, filed by Arnab Goswami and ARG Outlier Media which owns Republic TV, also alleged that one of the employees of the firm was tortured by the police in custody.

Goswami, who was briefly arrested in the case last month, in his plea also urged the Bombay HC to transfer the investigation to the CBI or any other independent agency.
