The Aam Aadmi Party, or AAP, is a political party founded by Arvind Kejriwal in 2012. It was born out of a civil society movement — Indian Against Corruption — that received massive popular support in 2011-12 after public anger over corruption charges on the then Congress-led UPA government.
It won its first elections in Delhi in 2013, and came to power with outside support from the Congress. But the government lasted only 49 days as Kejriwal resigned since he was unable to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Delhi Assembly. AAP returned to power in 2015, winning an overwhelming 67 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Under Kejriwal’s leadership, the government focused on addressing key urban issues like inflation, water, electricity bills, and public services, with a promise of free water and electricity for residents. AAP’s welfare schemes included initiatives like Mohalla Clinics for healthcare and expanding the Delhi Metro network. These initiatives garnered significant praise and boosted the party’s popularity.
However, AAP’s relationship with the central government, led by the BJP, has been marked by ongoing tensions, especially regarding control over the Delhi Police and other administrative matters. The party has frequently clashed with the Lieutenant Governor (L-G), who is appointed by the central government.
One of the biggest controversies surrounding the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in recent years has been the corruption charges linked to the 2021-22 Delhi excise policy. Several key AAP leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, have been accused of irregularities in the policy, which allegedly favored liquor suppliers. The case led to their arrests by central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Convener Arvind Kejriwal was also jailed in connection with the case. After being granted bail, Kejriwal stepped down as Chief Minister, with Atishi taking over the role.
Mr Prakash Raj seems to be a sensible person. But he has not given proper information on the Sheep Rearing Scheme launched in Telengana. Under this scheme, only Golla and Kuruma communities are eligible. If other poor communities want to rear sheep for their well being, they have will have to fork out their own money. Mr KCR will not help them even if they had voted for him. This is one another scheme that violates the constitutional scheme of equal treatment by the state.
Forget from him …you will never become one.You will soon realise your worth.
Prakash Raj entry in politics through APP a suitable party for him as a person without any integrity. Aravind Kejarwal too entered in politics with lots of lies and fluffs his main enemy was corrupted congress was that time.
Now we can see him is joining hands with all his opponent for his survival.
What is this guy Prakash Raj actually, he was friends with Yukde Tukde gang, all anti India establishments he supports, he only opposes Modi and BJP just because Non corruption and good governance and patriotism and developments.
Let him contest abd people get a chance to teach him what is patriotism.
This stupid fellow has lost his mental balance
What about his challenge in karnatak. Hahahahahaah
What has Prakash Raj got to offer to this country? Can he articulate it in specific manner? Can he promise that he will deliver ‘real progress’ to his constituency if he becomes a MP? And can he state that he will quit politics if he cannot make a real change?
Shri Prakash Raj may or may not be right. However, we are a democracy, not a monarchy. There is no lese majeste involved in criticising our rulers, even making good natured fun of them, as happens in all vibrant democracies. These dull, ponderous cadences of equating questioning with sedition do us no credit.
Prakash Raj thinks that real politics is just like his films where audiences clap, hoot or cheer at dialogues written by some one else; action sequences too are set in advance, body doubles providing the necessary support. Alas, most of these are going to be missing in an actual election fight. Let us see who ‘just becomes an MP’ as claimed by him.
From replies we can assume that the people are not even prepared to adopt an alternative mind set like Prakash does. Forget “body doubles” I see him one who has done “walk the talk” and words into actions. Adopting villages and schools for development is a sure point..
He won’t be ‘just another MP’. He’ll be one “hell of a worried MP”. On what grounds 126 was made 36, why an exorbitant price was paid, why HAL was dropped in favour of ADAG group, were more credible defence manufacturers like L&T considered before dropping HAL — these are the questions which are not going to leave Mr Modi. like an old poem says:
“The song that haunts through the trees//
As you ride home to comfort//
Will not leave you at your door.”
Unless he decides to settle down in Soochi in Russia where his good friend Putin will come often to meet him!
