Nagoya, Oct 23 (PTI) Thulasimathi Murugesan capped a memorable day with a gold and two silver medals, clinching the women’s doubles title to add a golden finish to her campaign at the Asian Para Games here on Friday.
The 24-year-old Paris Paralympics silver medallist combined with Manasi Joshi to win the women’s doubles SL3-SU5 title, beating China’s Yang Qiuxia and Xiao Zuxian 21-16 21-13 in the final that lasted 28 minutes.
Thulasimathi had earlier won silver in women’s singles SU5, losing 18-21 11-21 to Yang Qiuxia in the final.
She then partnered Nitesh Kumar in the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 final, where the Indian pair went down 21-11 19-21 14-21 to Indonesia’s Leani Ratri Oktila and Hikmat Ramdani to settle for another silver.
