New Delhi: Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar has accused a social media user (Congress supporter) of fabricating a Times of India report and sharing it on X. He calls the user a “lefty idiot minion” and the move as part of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “fraud politics”.
Chandrasekhar said in a post on X that the report was fabricated and alleged that circulating it was a crime. “Faking a @timesofindia article and posting it like this is more than a bit desperate, don’t you think? And oh btw, it’s a crime also.”
He added that the consequences could be serious and called for those responsible to be held accountable.
And @RahulGandhi ‘s Lefty Idiot minions continue his desperate fraud politics 😅

The controversy follows a post by Arun Grover (@ArunGrover2020) who identifies himself as a “Dimagi Naxal” on X. The ‘screenshot’ of the TOI article carried the headline “Rajeev Chandrasekar drops bombshell, accuses PM of compromising election commission to cling to power”.

Grover’s post claimed the report said Chandrasekar’s remarks raised questions on the independence of the Election Commission and questioned whether the BJP’s push into southern India was aimed at winning public trust or consolidating power.
TOI has officially clarified that the screenshot was fake and they had not published any such report.

Following this, while speaking to ANI, Chandrasekhar said the “fabrication” was a deliberate attempt to target him and described it as an effort to spread misinformation.

“I have said all along Rahul Gandhi is a fraud, his politics is fraud,” Chandrasekhar said, alleging that the Congress leader and his supporters were being exposed for their “lies” and “misinformation”. He said he would not be easily misled by the ‘attempt’.
“Taking a newspaper like the Times of India, faking its headline, and putting it on social media is not just desperation, fraud, and shamelessness, but it is also a crime, Rahul Gandhi will find out soon enough what the consequences of engaging in this kind of lawbreaking are,” he said.
Further political reactions are awaited.
