Patna: Hitting out at opposition parties for questioning the recent air strike in Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday the armed forces were busy quelling terror, but the Congress and its allies are not convinced with their act of bravery.

The statements made by the opposition parties after the preemptive air strike on terror camps have made only people of Pakistan happy, he claimed.

India conducted air strike at a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp in Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on February 26.

“When the country needed to speak in one voice, 21 opposition parties gathered in Delhi to adopt a resolution condemning us. They are demanding proof from the armed forces for their act of bravery,” the PM said at the BJP’s Sankalp rally at Gandhi Maidan here.

He alleged that the opposition parties were “conspiring” against him, he said.

“While I want to eliminate terror, opposition parties are conspiring to finish me,” Modi said.

“At a time when our armed forces are fighting enemies across border and within India, some people are making statements to please Pakistan. This is New India, it does not remain silent on killings of its jawans,” the prime minister stated.

Talking about development work in Bihar, Modi praised Nitish Kumar-Sushil Kumar Modi combine for their achievements in the state, asserting that the NDA government wants to ensure that all sections in the state gain access to the best of facilities.

The NDA government is working on all departments, including roadways, railways and airways, to improve infrastructure in the state, he said.

Thanking Saudi crown prince Mohammed Bin Salman for increasing Hajj quota in India, he said the favour has not been extended to any other country.

The PM also expressed his gratitude to the crown prince, who visited Delhi recently, for deciding to free 850 Indians detained on various counts.

“This demonstrates India’s improved standing and also exposes that Congress pursued politics for its own benefits,” he added. -PTI

  1. Its not about armed forces and their capabilities – its about clarity and truth. While world is believing in footage shown by #BBC #AlJazeera and #WashingtonPost – why India cant show or have a footage to show targets they hit in #BalakotAirStrike ? Whats wrong in asking them when India has satellites and every mirage plane has cameras.
#MEA lied, #AmitShah lied…and half of media rhetoric and #bjp dont want people to ask questions ?
Leave alone #Balakot, I say #PulwamaTerroristAttack was inside job, look at timing and who tried to gain max benefit out of it ? Where is , and how Jaish was named in this political tool ?

  2. Modi is right. Congress, leading the opposition cacophony, is trying to spread the outrageous view that the Armed Forces are merely a propaganda tool for the BJP and are acting ONLY to help BJP win.

  3. A long summer of campaigning stretches ahead of us. It will be wonderful if the magnificent men – now some women too – of our armed forces are no part of that discourse.

  4. Taling pot shot against every body and labelling every opponents anti national is the theme Modi has set for LS 2019. The entire indian economy is in shambles and all the parameter including GDP show downward. Mass hunger and deprivation is the face of rural india. Modi erratic eccentric and irrational policies put younsters in a mental agony and suicidal tendencies
