Meerut, May 25 (PTI) A male ward attendant was arrested here in connection with the killing of a hospital nurse last week, police said.

Anjali Sharma, a contract nurse at the Medical College, was found dead on May 21.

On Sunday, the police arrested ward attendant Sufiyan, who, allegedly in collusion with his sister, Sajida, strangled Sharma after she refused to marry him.

Sufiyan was arrested from the city’s Gurjar Chowk area. Sajida was nabbed earlier for her alleged involvement in the crime, the police said.

According to the police, on May 21, Sharma’s brother filed a complaint at the Medical Police Station, alleging that Sufiyan and Sajida had called his sister to a rented room in the Lohianagar area and strangled her.

The police said that in a bid to mislead the investors, Sajida carried Sharma’s body in an e-rickshaw and abandoned it outside the Emergency Ward of the Medical College.

Earlier, the police arrested Jabar Singh, another ward attendant at the same facility, in connection with the murder. PTI COR NAV VN VN
