Hubballi (Karnataka), Sep 19 (PTI) Karnataka BJP President B Y Vijayendra on Saturday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah here and discussed the party’s organisational activities in the state, including the ‘Ballari Chalo’ campaign.
The meeting took place amid the BJP’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, (Service Resolve Campaign) being organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public service and leadership, Vijayendra said.
During the meeting, Vijayendra presented Shah with details of the ‘Ballari Chalo’ padayatra, organised against what the BJP has alleged were corruption and “anti-people policies” of the Congress government in Karnataka.
He said Shah was apprised of the support extended by BJP workers and the public during the padayatra and that he sought guidance on intensifying the party’s campaign against the state government and highlighting its alleged failures before the people.
According to Vijayendra, Shah appreciated the ‘Ballari Chalo’ programme and other organisational activities undertaken by the BJP in Karnataka.
Vijayendra said the party would continue its organisational efforts and public awareness programmes with the aim of bringing the BJP back to power in Karnataka in the 2028 Assembly elections.
Shah was scheduled to attend an event here on Saturday but could not do so due to health issues. PTI KSU SSK
