Dehradun, Sep 20 (PTI) Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday said the people of Uttarakhand would give a fitting reply to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his party for mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and using derogatory language against National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval.
Speaking to reporters in Badrinath, Chamoli district, Dhami said Gandhi seemed determined to cast doubt on the valour of the armed forces and ridicule the country.
The CM’s remarks came on a day when the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha hit out at the Modi government over the issue of hostel facilities for students, asking why they were “forced to live in unsafe PGs”, and also sought to know the status of the investigation into the Satya Niketan building collapse incident in Delhi.
Gandhi claimed that PM Modi, NSA Doval, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and industrialists Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani exercised control over different aspects of the country’s political, institutional and economic life.
Dhami said that at one of Gandhi’s events, the PM was mocked by bringing up an elderly mother and derogatory language was used against the NSA, who is a source of pride for Uttarakhand and has dedicated his life to the nation.
This hurt the sentiments of not just the people of Uttarakhand, but of those across the country, he said.
This shows the mindset of Gandhi and the Congress about elderly mothers, women, and the armed forces, he said.
Dhami said Gandhi’s language was “undignified and lacking in decorum” and that the people of Uttarakhand would give a befitting reply to this in a democratic manner. PTI DPT DIV DIV
