Lucknow, Oct 24 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa announced that a special voter registration drive was conducted on Saturday at all polling stations across the state.
The purpose of this drive was to include names of eligible citizens left out of the electoral rolls for assembly constituencies, as well as young people registering to vote for the first time, a statement said.
During this campaign, Form-6 was filled out to facilitate the inclusion of eligible citizens, particularly women and youth, into the electoral rolls.
The CEO visited polling stations including Modern Academy (Viram Khand) and St John Bosco (Vivek Khand) in Gomti Nagar (Lucknow East constituency), as well as Delhi Public School in Gomti Nagar Extension (Bakshi Ka Talab constituency) to oversee arrangements.
In various districts, district election officers, deputy district election officers, electoral registration officers, and assistant electoral registration officers conducted field visits to polling stations to supervise the registration process.
Rinwa also said that the objective of this special campaign is to make the electoral roll accurate, up-to-date, and error-free, ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out. PTI NAV MPL
