UP: 3 killed, as many injured, in motorcycle collisions in Budaun, Amethi

Budaun/Amethi (UP), May 8 (PTI) Three persons were killed and as many injured in separate road accidents in Budaun and Amethi districts here, police said on Friday.

In Budaun, a man and his nephew were killed while a woman was injured after their motorcycle rammed into a stationary Dunlop vehicle on the Budaun-Dataganj road on Thursday night, police said.

The accident took place between Daharpur and Sarai villages, when Sukhveer (40), a resident of Laharpur village, was returning home from Samaura village along with his wife, Dhan Devi, and nephew, Omveer (30).

The police said the motorcycle collided with a Dunlop vehicle parked on a roadside, leaving all three seriously injured.

Dataganj Kotwali in-charge Vedpal Singh said police rushed the injured to the Community Health Centre in Dataganj, where doctors declared Sukhveer and Omveer dead. Dhan Devi was referred to the district hospital for treatment.

Singh said al egal action would be taken after a complaint from the family members has been received.

In another incident in Amethi, a 28-year-old man was killed while his wife and niece were seriously injured after their motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Hindustan Dhaba in the Inhauna Police Station area on Thursday night, the police said.

The deceased was identified as Dharmendra Kumar, a resident of Bichhora village. His wife, Khushboo, and niece, Shivani, sustained serious injuries in the accident, they said.

Inhauna Station House Officer Vivek Singh said the injured were admitted to the Community Health Centre in Singhpur for treatment.

Kumar’s body was sent for a post-mortem and efforts are underway to trace the unidentified vehicle, he said. PTI COR KIS MDO VN VN
