Thane, May 5 (PTI) Two people were killed and one sustained injuries after an SUV collided with a state transport bus in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Tuesday, an official said.
The crash occurred around 11.30 am at Tokawde in Murbad taluka on the Murbad-Ahilyanagar Road, said Sagar Palsule, Divisional Commissioner of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) Thane division.
“The SUV was heading towards Kalyan when it collided with an MSRTC bus coming from the opposite direction,” he said.
Two persons, occupying the front seats of the four-wheeler, died on the spot, while one passenger sustained injuries and is hospitalised, the official said.
He said that officials from the Murbad bus depot rushed to the spot immediately and carried out rescue and relief operations.
The identities of the victims are yet to be ascertained, he added. PTI COR ARU
