Bhopal, Sep 16 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh assembly speaker Narendra Singh Tomar on Wednesday said factuality, impartiality, and public concern should remain the fundamental foundations of journalism amid new challenges posed by digital and technological changes.
“Journalism is a strong pillar of democracy and plays a crucial role in reflecting the voice of society to the government and system.
“In this era of digital and technological change, the media faces new challenges, but factuality, impartiality, and public concern must remain the fundamental foundations of the profession,” Tomar said while addressing the “National Media Dialogue and Lifetime Achievement Award-2026” function organised by the Central India Press Club.
He said a journalist’s pen should possess responsibility, credibility, and the power to positively guide society.
Tomar, Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang congratulated all the honoured senior journalists and former Public Relations Commissioners, hailing their vast experience as a source of inspiration for society and the new generation.
Senior journalists, editors, media representatives, administrative officials, and intellectuals from across the country and Madhya Pradesh participated in the programme and were honoured with the “Lifetime Achievement Award-2026” at the ceremony.
The organisers said the programme was organised to honour the contributions of senior journalists and those working in the field of public relations to inspire the new generation with their experience, values, and work ethic. PTI MAS NSK
