Faridabad, Apr 27 (PTI) A toddler was killed, and his mother was injured after they were hit by an SUV here, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred on Sunday night when Laxmi was travelling with her son, Pradeep, police said.
An SUV hit the duo from behind, rolling over the front wheel on Pradeep’s head. Locals rushed them to a nearby private hospital, where the child was declared dead. They also caught the accused driver, Rohit, a software engineer, and handed him over to the police.
A case was registered against Rohit, and he was arrested.
“During questioning, Rohit said that he was returning home from work. After reaching Khedi Road, he lost his balance, causing Pradeep to fall under the vehicle,” the investigating officer ASI Surendra Kumar said.
