Gurugram, May 4 (PTI) A fire broke out at a tile warehouse near the Kali Mata temple here on Monday, officials said, adding that two fire brigade vehicles were called to the scene.

The fire was brought under control after about two hours of effort, they said, adding that there were no reports of any casualties. However, tiles and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit.

The fire broke out in the warehouse at around 10:20 am in the packing material and cardboard stored there, causing the flames to spread rapidly, they said.

The fire brigade initially struggled due to the narrow streets, but eventually prevented the fire from spreading to nearby residential buildings. The local police sealed off the road surrounding the temple for safety reasons, the officials added.

“Initial investigations suggest a short circuit may have been the cause of the fire. However, the exact cause is still under investigation,” fire officer Narender Kumar said. PTI COR MNK MNK
