Jaipur, Oct 4 (PTI) Three people were killed and one was injured in two separate road accidents in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur and Banswara districts on Sunday, police said.

In Dungarpur, a tanker carrying chemicals overturned near Goga Mod on National Highway-48 in the Bichhiwara police station area and caught fire.

Bichhiwara SHO Devendra Deval said the tanker was travelling from Vadodara to Uttar Pradesh when its driver lost control of the vehicle.

The driver was trapped inside the tanker, while the cleaner managed to escape before it caught fire, he said.

The driver, identified as Rajaram Chauhan of Madhya Pradesh, was burnt to death. The injured cleaner was admitted to a hospital in Bichhiwara, police said.

In Banswara, two youths were killed after their motorcycle collided head-on with a bus on State Highway-32 connecting Banswara and Salumbar.

The deceased were identified as Nilesh, 16, and Sameer, 18, both residents of Sundani village.

Police said the two had gone to Banswara to buy clothes and were returning home when the accident occurred.

Both died on the spot, following which their bodies were shifted to a mortuary for post-mortem examination, police said. PTI SDA

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
