Prayagraj (UP), Aug 4 (PTI) The bodies of three deaf-mute ragpickers were found in a rented house in Prayagraj’s Shahganj area on Tuesday, with police suspecting the killings stemmed from an internal dispute.

The bodies of two women and a man, with injury marks, were recovered from a house in the Garhi Sarai locality near Leader Road under the Shahganj police station limits, Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Manish Shandilya said.

A preliminary investigation suggested that the victims, all deaf-mute, worked as ragpickers and lived together in the rented accommodation, he said.

“The incident appears to have occurred due to an internal dispute. The identities and ages of the deceased are yet to be ascertained,” the DCP said.

Police have constituted multiple teams to investigate the case, while the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, he added. PTI RAJ MDO MDO
