New Delhi: The Indian Railways on Tuesday announced it would run over 200 additional special trains to connect major destinations during the summer.
These additional trains would make over 4,000 trips, the Railways said Tuesday.
“In this summer season, for the convenience of railway travellers and to clear extra rush of passengers, Indian Railways is running 4,010 trips of 217 special trains this year,” it said in a statement.
“Special Trains have been planned to connect major destinations across the country on railway routes,” it added.
Summers usually see an extra demand for train tickets as people go on vacations.
The Indian Railways runs over 3,000 Mail/Express trains daily, including the Vande Bharat Express, Gatimaan Express, Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express, Humsafar Express, Tejas Express, Duronto Express, Garib Rath Express and Sampark Kranti Express.
