Hyderabad, Oct 6 (PTI) The Telangana government said on Tuesday that it would issue a notice to BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao for submission of land records over 45 acres of land “missing” near his farmhouse in Siddipet district.
The Revenue department officials, who conducted a land survey following an inquiry ordered by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in September in to alleged irregularities involving Rao’s farmhouse, found that 45 acres “are missing” (as per the records).
The chief minister held a review meeting on the land issue with officials on Tuesday, a government release said.
The officials informed the CM that the survey was conducted in Erravelly and Sivaru Venkatapuram villages in Marook mandal of Siddipet district. KCR’s farmhouse is located at Erravelly. Rao, a former CM, is addressed as KCR,
While 388 acres is part of Survey Number 325 in Erravelly, the survey could locate only 343 acres, it said.
A Survey Number is a unique identification number assigned by the revenue department to a specific parcel of land.
Revanth Reddy directed the officials to locate the 45 acres, the release said.
A survey notification has been issued in Erravelly and Sivaru Venkatapuram villages for locating the land.
The officials would issue a notice to KCR and his family members, who have lands neighbouring the surveyed lands, for submission of their land records to locate the “missing” 45 acres.
The release also said the government would distribute the land under Survey Number 325 to eligible local farmers.
The chief minister directed the officials to also construct a residential colony in the lands under Survey Number 325 for those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Telangana formation during the statehood agitation.
He directed entrusting the responsibility of developing the residential colony to the Housing department and its completion before June 2 (Telangana Formation Day) next year.
CM Revanth Reddy on September 16 accused the BRS leadership of “looting” lands worth Rs one lakh crore and ordered an inquiry into alleged irregularities involving KCR’s farmhouse.
He ordered a special enquiry team (SET) probe into the alleged irregularities in issues related to lands.
Revanth Reddy, who spoke in the Assembly, accused the previous BRS regime of land related irregularities and corruption, saying “they (BRS leadership), their supporters and relatives have looted lands worth about Rs one lakh crore. Truth should come out. There should be an inquiry into this. Justice should be done to poor.” PTI SJR SA
