Satna (MP), Sep 8 (PTI) A four-year-old girl was attacked and seriously injured by a stray dog on the premises of the forest department’s office in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district, an official said on Tuesday.
The girl suffered serious facial injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Satna, he said.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 3.30 pm at the Forest Department Ranger office premises in Devendra Nagar, where the child’s father is a forest guard.
The girl’s father, Rakesh Kumar Rajak, said a stray dog was hunting a cat on the premises, and when the girl tried to approach the cat, the dog attacked her, severely scratching her face.
He said that the child was initially taken to the Devendra Nagar hospital, where she received first aid and was later admitted to a private hospital in Satna.
The family said that the girl suffered serious injuries to her jaw and below her eyes, and her condition is reported to be critical.
Satna’s Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Dr Manoj Shukla, advised people to seek immediate medical attention if they are bitten by dogs.
