New Delhi: Two Mumbai men have been arrested for sexually molesting a South Korean woman in Khar on Tuesday while she was live-streaming in front of a crowd.

The accused, Mobeen Chand Mohammad Shaikh and Mohammad Naqeeb Sadrealam Ansari, have been booked under Section 354 for assault and using criminal force to outrage a woman’s modesty.

A video of the South Korean Twitch streamer, known online as Mhyochi, went viral Tuesday evening showing the two men misbehaving with her. One of the men was seen pulling her towards his bike, and when she implied she was not dressed for a bike ride, he tried to kiss her.

The video was uploaded by a Twitter user called @Beaver_R6, who tagged the Mumbai Police, and called for some action. “This can’t go unpunished,” the user said.

The woman, Hyojeong Park, — a gamer and content creator — is seen in the video saying no” several times as the young man pulls her towards his bike and motions her to sit on it.

Even though she walks away – muttering aloud, “time to go home” – the men on the bike catch up with her and offer her a lift again. “Come, this seat,” he tells her. She gets away by saying that her home was nearby.

Later, Park replied to @Beaver_R6, saying she tried her best “not to escalate the situation and leave because he was with his friend”.

She sounded aghast as some people insinuated the harassment was a fallout of her “being too friendly and engaging the conversation (sic)”.

“Makes me think again about streaming,” she said.

On Wednesday night, the Mumbai Police and Hyojeong Park had an exchange on Twitter after she volunteered to provide them with her contact details.

On Thursday, the Mumbai Police tweeted: “Both the accused have been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the IPC.”

Park also took to Instagram to talk about the incident stating, “Some people said that it was initiated by me being too friendly and engaging in conversation. Or I am just being too naive and shouldn’t walk alone or drink at the bar alone.”

Park has been regularly documenting her travel in Mumbai to her 12.3k followers on Twitch. Her livestreams have over 25,000 views and showcase her interactions with people while walking through the streets of Mumbai.
