Chaibasa, Jul 26 (PTI) Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district has completed 100 per cent digitisation of enumeration forms of all the five assembly constituencies during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, an official statement said on Sunday.
The enumeration exercise for the SIR of electoral rolls began on June 30 and will continue till July 29, during which BLOs are conducting door-to-door visits to distribute, collect and verify enumeration forms.
One hundred per cent digitisation of all five assembly segments – Chaibasa, Majhgaon, Jagannathpur, Manoharpur and Chakradharpur – has been done successfully to become the first district of the state to achieve the target within the stipulated timeframe, the statement said.
Hailing the hard work of the personnel engaged in the SIR process, West Singhbhum District Magistrate and District Election Officer Manish Kumar congratulated the electoral registration officers, assistant electoral registration officers, BLOs, supervisors, data entry operators, among others, for their commitment, dedication and teamwork.
He also appreciated the cooperation of the representatives of all affiliated political parties and appointed booth level agent-2.
Kumar said a special three-day camp will be organised under the SIR process from July 27 to carry out an overview of the electoral roll, correction in name, address and other details as well as election-related work.
He urged the eligible electorates to take advantage of the special camp and verify the details recorded in their electoral roll..
The draft electoral rolls will be published on August 5, following which claims and objections can be filed till September 4.
The claims and objections will be disposed of between August 5 and October 3, while the final electoral rolls will be published on October 7. PTI BS RG
