Gangtok, Oct 6 (PTI) Sikkim’s Tourism and Civil Aviation Department on Tuesday launched four digital initiatives to promote tourism industry in the Himalayan state.

At a function attended, among others, by Tourism and Civil Aviation and Commerce Minister Tshering T Bhutia, an Adventure Fest web portal, developed for Adventure Fest scheduled to be held from November 1 to 7 in Namchi district, was launched.

The portal’s key features and functionality were demonstrated through a video presentation.

The second launch was the implementation of the e-Office system at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM).

With its implementation, IHM will become the first institute in Sikkim to transition to a fully online system.

The third launch included the adoption of e-Office at the Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC).

The STDC will become the first public sector undertaking (PSU) in the state to adopt e-Office.

The fourth launch included the upgraded Atithis GIS portal, which introduces several features aimed at simplifying and streamlining services.

The upgraded portal includes a simplified booking process, along with a guest self-booking facility and online payment option for instant transactions.

Following the launch of these initiatives, the dignitaries also officially unveiled the Sikkim Adventure Tourism Fest T-shirts and brochures. PTI KDK RG

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
