Raipur, Oct 7 (PTI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday announced that ‘Seva Jyoti Sankalp’ squares will be developed at 38 locations across the state, including all district headquarters, making them symbols of public service and nation building.

He made the announcement while addressing a ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ and ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ organised by the BJP in Raipur to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years as head of government, an official statement said.

The CM emphasised that his government’s primary objective was to build a “developed Chhattisgarh” alongside a “developed India” by 2047, and work in this direction was being carried out in a planned manner as per the state’s vision document.

At the event held in the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus, Sai announced the construction of ‘Seva Jyoti Sankalp Chowks’ at 38 locations across the state, including district headquarters, the release said.

He also said the Telibandha Chowk in Raipur will be developed as a ‘Seva Jyoti Sankalp Chowk’.

These squares will become symbols of public service, nation-building and the resolve to build a developed India, Sai said, adding they will inspire future generations by highlighting the importance of every citizen’s contribution to the nation’s progress.

Sai noted October 7 is a historic day as Modi on this day completed 25 years of public service as Chief Minister of Gujarat (October 2001 to May 2014) and as Prime Minister since 2014.

He said PM Modi has served the 140 crore people of India without taking a day’s leave and considers himself the “Pradhan Sevak” rather than the prime minister.

Modi has set before the country the ambitious goal of making India a developed nation by 2047, the CM maintained, adding it was not merely a government’s objective but a collective resolve of 140 crore Indians.

Building a developed Chhattisgarh was essential for building a developed India. Accordingly, the state government has charted its development path for the coming years through the ‘Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision @2047’ document, he told the gathering.

“Work is being carried out in a planned manner to connect every region and every section of society with the mainstream of development and build a prosperous, self-reliant and developed Chhattisgarh,” he affirmed.

The CM administered a pledge to elected representatives and citizens present at the event to actively participate in building a developed India and developed Chhattisgarh.

Referring to his just concluded visit to Singapore, Sai noted Modi’s vision was that Indian states should strengthen their economic and institutional ties with different countries and benefit from global opportunities in investment, technology, skills and innovation.

He said Chhattisgarh and Haryana were selected by the Ministry of External Affairs to participate in the first ‘Singapore-India Network for Growth (SING) Forum-2026’ held in the Southeast Asian country.

During his Singapore visit, discussions were held with industry leaders, investors and representatives of business federations on investment and partnerships in various sectors, Sai informed.

The CM later started the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ carrying a torch and flagged off a motorcycle rally.

The yatra started from the agricultural university campus and proceeded to Telibandha Chowk, with a large number of citizens and youths participating in it. PTI TKP RSY

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
