Medininagar, Jul 27 (PTI) A security guard at a market complex was shot dead by miscreants in Jharkhand’s Palamu district, police said on Monday.
The incident took place around 11 pm on Sunday night at the JMP complex within Town police station limits. The victim has been identified as Vinod Pandey, 50, a resident of Rajhara village in Nawa Bazar police station limits in the district, they said.
“The victim was shot dead by unknown assailants on Sunday night. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared him as brought dead. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination to Medininagar Medical College and Hospital,” Medininagar SDPO Rajesh Kumar Yadav said.
“We are seeing this as revenge by the assailants because on July 15, a commotion broke out while they were celebrating a birthday party at the market complex. On that day, the complex manager beat up a man named Vishnu Ram. Following this, Ram filed a case against the manager. The manager is currently in jail,” he said.
The SDPO said the police analysed CCTV footage and identified the assailants. They will soon be arrested. PTI COR RPS RPS RG
