Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 7 (PTI) The Keralam State Youth Welfare Board has launched ‘Scene Keralam’, a new initiative designed to establish direct communication between Gen Z, Alpha and young citizens with the state government, encouraging active youth participation in governance.

The initiative seeks to understand the perspectives, ideas and suggestions of the new generation and provide them a platform to share their views with the government, Sports, Youth Affairs and Registration Minister O J Janeesh has said.

Through the ‘Scene Keralam’ portal, youngsters can directly submit their ideas and suggestions to the government, he said in a statement here.

Janeesh unveiled the official portal logo at a function held at the Kerala Legislative Assembly complex here on Tuesday.

The introduction of the portal under the State Youth Welfare Board is aimed at ensuring greater participation of young people in the activities of the state government, he said.

“Youth determine the future of a nation. Their role is very important in building a more creative society,” the minister said.

The initiative is being implemented as part of the state government’s 100-day action plan. PTI LGK ROH

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
